There's So Much to Amaze and Engage You at the KINDAI UNIVERSITY Faculty of Science and Engineering

Why did you choose the Faculty of Science and Engineering? What are you studying here? We interviewed some first- and second-year students to learn their opinions.

Mathematics Course, Department of Science

Because many of us are aiming to become teachers, we're really motivated to learn.

M.K.

1st year, Mathematics Course, Department of Science

My goal is to become a junior high school math teacher. At KINDAI UNIVERSITY, there's a student interest group called Kyoshoku Navi ("Teaching Profession Navigation"). This group helps students become teachers by learning and interacting with their peers. I get a lot of useful advice from seniors who have the same goal as I do. It's a really supportive study environment!

Physics Course, Department of Science

Here, I can fully appreciate the fun of studying physics.

Y.K.

2nd year, Physics Course, Department of Science

I attend seminars led by Associate Professor Ishibashi, whose specialty is general relativity and cosmology. These classes let me study physics on a grand scale. At this university, students can take teacher-training courses from their first year. I want to become a science teacher in the future, and this well-developed curriculum provides a rewarding study environment.

Chemistry Course, Department of Science

I get to have a lot of experiences that'll surely prove useful in the future.

H.N.

1st year, Chemistry Course, Department of Science

At high school, I often asked one of my teachers—an advisor to our drama club—for advice about what direction I should take in the future. I was inspired to become a teacher myself, and now I'm studying to be a high school chemistry teacher. Through my membership of the Chemistry Research Club, I've had the valuable experience of visiting schools to demonstrate chemistry experiments.

Department of Life Science

There are lots of interesting classes where I can discover fascinating facts about life.

H.H.

1st year, Department of Life Science

Through conducting many experiments, we get to see for ourselves how living things function. Ever since I was small, I've been fascinated by living things and curious about how the human body works. Studying at this university allows me to follow through with these interests. In the future, I'd like to be a researcher, making full use of my knowledge in the medical, pharmaceutical, and biological sciences.

Department of Applied Chemistry

Putting knowledge into practice through experiments makes chemistry even more intriguing.

S.W.

1st year, Department of Applied Chemistry

I study and conduct experiments every day with my chemistry-loving classmates. Our learning environment is really stimulating. We don't just do experiments but also develop other skills by giving presentations in front of everyone. The senior students and teachers are all very friendly and I can ask them anything, which just adds to the appeal of this department.

Department of Mechanical Engineering

I want to learn and gain experience so I can contribute to society in the manufacturing field.

M.D.

1st year, Department of Mechanical Engineering

At KINDAI UNIVERSITY, we don't just learn theory; we also gain practical skills in areas ranging from drawing blueprints to building robots. My dream for the future is to build a machine for use in the field of human services. I plan to make the most of my four years of study here and contribute to society.

Department of Mechanical Engineering

Department of Electric and Electronic Engineering

Right from the first year, I can acquire practical skills and wide-ranging knowledge.

M.T.

2nd year, Department of Electric and Electronic Engineering

Students here can learn practical programming from their first year. The learning environment is really stimulating. There are lots of classes covering things like electronic circuitry experiments and report writing, so you can pick up a wide range of practical skills. In the future, I'd like to work as a system engineer.

Department of Electric and Electronic Engineering

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Being able to study a wide range of themes stimulates my intellectual curiosity.

S.Y.

2nd year, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Living with my grandfather, who was hearing-impaired, got me interested in the role of universal design in urban environments. That's why I chose this department, which provides comprehensive coverage of urban planning. I can take a multifaceted approach to my studies through classes in a wide range of fields, from social infrastructure to material engineering and urban environmental development.
