Junior College Division

Gain the Knowledge and Skills Demanded by Business in Two Years

Our Junior College Division was established in 1950, the only school of its kind in Osaka Prefecture to have a business and economics department. The Division’s founding principles emphasize practical studies and character building. Based on this educational spirit, we have built a learning environment that takes full advantage of being part of a four-year university. The Division aims to produce individuals who are valued by others, trustworthy, and respected as they develop into fully-fledged members of society.

Classes begin at 13:15 in the afternoon. Students are able to choose from a wide range of courses within the semester system. We offer a transfer-preparation course for those students who wish to transfer into a bachelor degree. Three different tracks allow students to choose the syllabus that most closely matches their chosen path. The educational environment allows students to study efficiently and without stress. Our goal is to create a setting that is both unique and open to society, where people can develop the skills needed in today’s business world.

Curriculum and Facilities

In the span of just two years, students acquire the knowledge and practical skills that are needed in the business world. The curriculum is flexible in order to facilitate this learning. Through a close affiliation with Kindai University’s Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Business Administration, the Junior College Division offers university-level studies in three areas: commercial science, economics, and business administration. Students may also take courses offered by the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Faculty of Literature, Arts and Cultural Studies, and Distance Learning Department. Moreover, a system is in place that allows students to choose class attendance times freely to fit their lifestyle, enabling a balance between academic studies and extracurricular activities.
Our learning facilities are top notch. Students have full access to the data processing education building KUDOS, the Central Library, and other university facilities in a stimulating educational environment.

Career Opportunities

One of the special features of the Junior College Division is that it gives students a wide range of options to pursue after graduation. Graduates may wish to seek a job on the front line of today’s business world, start-up their own business, or transfer to a four-year university degree. Students are fully supported in making those choices.
Within the Junior College Division, we offer a basic studies course to help strengthen academic abilities, as well as a practical IT course to boost computer knowledge and skills with the goal of obtaining a certification. Our special lecture series gives students the opportunity to hear from local businesspeople about current issues in business and economics. These lectures are extremely valuable to those who wish to start a business. Also, about 70% of graduates (over the last five years) go on to study a four-year university course. The Division’s extensive support system also includes courses for second-year students who intend to transfer to a four-year institution.
