自己紹介

アメリカ南カリフォルニア出身で、高校を卒業するまでオレンジ郡アナハイム市に住んでいました。アナハイムはディズニーランドがある町なので訪れた経験がある方は意外と多いかもしれません。自分のルーツを探るため大学卒業後来日しました。様々な政府や教育機関で国際交流・翻訳・通訳・学生指導の経験を経て教員になりました。専門は通訳と翻訳です。母国語ではない言語への通訳・翻訳の方向性（directionality）について、どのように教育をしていくべきかを研究しています。

学生へのメッセージ

教室の中で学べるものと学べないものがあります。皆さんには大学で学んだノウハウを外で活かし、視野を広げて世界を羽ばたいていただきたいです。

ゼミ紹介

通訳や翻訳には色々な分野があります。ゼミでは逐次・同時通訳、そして翻訳の実技トレーニングをしますが、通訳または翻訳のどちらかをテーマとして選んでいただき、プロジェクトに取り組んでいただきたいと思っています。
